In late October, an advocacy group known as Hispanics Across America began pushing for New York City bodega owners to arm themselves with guns in an effort to protect themselves during late-night robberies.
While some of the 14,000 bodega owners in the city have joined Hispanics Across America in arming themselves, others have gone the opposite route entirely and chosen to deal with violence without guns.
